Simple Pleasure of the Day: Dinner with family

What Mandy Thinks: "Simple Pleasure of the Day" post
My SPOTD for today is dinner with my uncle, aunt, baby cousins, and grandmother.  My new job is literally blocks away from my uncle's house so when he found out I got this job he suggested I should be over sometime.  The suggestion turned out to include fish tacos (yummy), screaming children (I love my cousins but oh do I hate children), and awkward conversation.  My family is awesome, just this side of my family is not the type to hang out very often so the weather is usually a main topic of conversation.

Occasional family outings could drive you nuts if there are over-hyped children involved, but they are still overall very nice to have (if the case being you actually enjoy your family's company) because:

- It's great catching up with family if there is catching up to do (or even time to - those CHILDREN!) no matter how near or far they are from you.  Since now my baby cousins (I use the term "baby" loosely, they're around 6 and 4) know that I'm moving to their city soon, they want me to come over to play ALL THE TIME.  I'd not only catch up on every little detail they want to share with me, but actually see them grow up from up close!  Part of this scares me (my level of patience is rather low) but I still cannot wait for it.

- I don't know if it's just my family (both sides) or if all families are like this, but mine always have the BEST food during gatherings.  The fish tacos tonight were fabulous.  They even offered sorbet!

- Strangers are much less fun to hang out with.  And that's just my opinion.  I like to keep at least 3 points on each of my posts with points so that's the best I could come up with.  My brain is still frazzled from the stampede of pillow fighting I tried my best to stay alive for this evening.
