Simple Pleasure of the Day: Parallel parking like a BOSS!

What Mandy Thinks: "Simple Pleasure of the Day" post
Parallel parking is not one of my specialties.  I'm better at cooking than I am parking, and that says a lot because my best dishes come out of boxes (cereal, macaroni, TV dinners, etc).  This being said, I arrived to work today realizing the only decent parking spot I could find would make me parallel park in a very small spot that my Beetle could probably fit into.

My SPOTD is my excellent job a parallel parking this morning.  And by excellent, I mean I only repositioned a few times instead of a few hundred times.  My wheels were up the curb and everything with just enough room between both cars I'm sandwiched between.
Parallel parking is important to know due to the fact that:

- Depending on where you live, it could be the only way to park your car.  My job is in downtown Palo Alto where there are 2 and 3 hour parking limits unless you park blocks away in front of somebody's house for free.  Either move your car every few hours (stressful!) or walk from 10 minutes away (easier but this includes exercise).  For those who have their own parking spot at your job: I am jealous beyond your wildest dreams.

- It helps you gain perspective on your car's actual size and blind spots in order to fit in a parking spot.  If you think your car is a certain size but then try to park and hit some guy's car... now you know your car is a tank in size so BE CAREFUL.

- Leaving your car in the middle of the road is hazardous and dangerous.  Neglecting your car in a non-designated parking spot could lead to a parking ticket, your car getting towed away, and frustration to those around you because your car is in their way.

I woke up this morning having no idea that I would park my car like a BOSS today, it was just perfectly executed for no reason.  Since I have publicized this parking job, cross your fingers that I don't completely jinx myself for my next try or when I try to leave that spot later today haha!
