There are some bands and some songs that just exude a mood / perspective / atmosphere / whatever. The band 311 for me is the ultimate rainy day band. There's just some of their songs that just feel just like rain. Today's SPOTD took place through rain in a rainy-mood song as weather-matching music.
Weather patterns and songs go well together for the following reasons:
- There's a lot of songs based on a variety of topics, including weather
related songs. For example, "Boys of Summer" about sunny beach weather
(and a pretty tramp who's breaking a dude's heart while he mistakenly
waits for you to be less trampy).
- Weather can unexpectedly change, and so can your music taste; both are hard to control so just let it be and enjoy the ride of life and all those cliche's.
- Music can be memory triggers. Remembering where you were the first time you heard a song and how it makes you feel sticks with you longer than any weather phenom (except for those who lost somebody or someone because of a hurricane or twister or something JUST GO WITH MY POINT here I'm going with average weather phenom's).
