SPOTD: Sleeping in

What Mandy Thinks: "Simple Pleasure of the Day" post
I am hopelessly devoted to sleep.  Sleep and I are involved.  We spend so much time together, and this morning was no exception.  After my first full week at my new job, all I wanted to do was stay in bed until after 10am.  My Simple Pleasure of the Day started early: I slept in.  And it was GLORIOUS.

Why sleeping in after a long week is the best way to start your weekend:

- Weekday sleep schedules are the worst, especially if you have a long commute ahead of you so you need to get up even earlier than what you're used to in order to arrive on time.  Weekend sleep schedules are on YOUR time; whether it is to sleep the whole day away or get up earlier than lunchtime to do something fun it's all up to you. (Unless you work weekends.  My sympathies go out to those who do.)

- If you're like me, your bed is ground zero for the mood of your entire day.  Just a little too much sleep could make you feel awesome and ready for the day or it could make you want to sleep several more hours.  Either way you're getting more sleep and changing your mood... so there ya go.

- Your "internal sleep clock" as I like to call it, feels reset.  Especially if there was one or two of your weeknights that had the least amount of sleep compared to the rest of the week.

Uh all this sleep talk makes me want to crawl back into bed.
