A new album of one of my favorite pop singers that my teenage self would roll her eyes to IS AWESOME. Too bad I have to wait seven whole days to purchase the songs I want because that's when my computer with iTunes will be set up at my new place with internet AND because my morality strongly discourages pirating. I'm one of those who likes to stick with as many rule abiding as possible, and this includes buying songs (whether the artist gets the money or not, debate that on your own time). Today's SPOTD is my discovering these awesome new songs that are currently on repeat.
New songs on repeat:
- Boosts productivity, especially when working on a deadline-heavy project or projects simultaneously. I would not have survived most of my finals without whatever current new fave was on the radio and then blasting in my ears on repeat throughout the night as I coded or designed or what have you. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Christina Aguilera is the sole reason for my first team project's development role succeeding as it did. (Twelve hours straight of coding as a code hater? I took one for the team there.) Same with Gaga for my eCommerce final that wasn't even finished but was so freaking PRETTY that my teacher passed me anyway.
- Get stuck in your head no matter how many times you repeat it. Humming in the shower, commuting to work, watching TV, anything remotely similar to anything related to the song will bring that song out the deepest depths of your mind and overlap whatever you're thinking or doing and it could just be so dang ANNOYING AH but you don't mind because you love the song.
- Will cause you to HATE UPON ALL HATREDS OF HATE the song at some point because you've sickened yourself with repeat madness, but more often than not it will be something to love again in short spurts.
