Simple Pleasure of the Day: Helpful people

After hauling all of my furniture from my old apartment to my new one, I find my old apartment filled with my former roommate's family cleaning the apartment for us.  One is vacuuming, another is wiping down counters, another is cleaning out the fridge, etc etc.  I'm all "Oh my, what's going on!" because all of my former roommate's family is here flown from Hawaii to see her graduate, not end up being our cleaning crew!  I was greatly appreciative for them doing this for us mostly while I was gone because if I had stayed there the whole time I would have kicked them out to have more family fun time.  Regardless, these helpful people are responsible for my SPOTD.

Unexpected moments such as chores you expected to do already be done by others before you even start are humbling because:

- It helps keep your hope for humanity up.  With all the sadness and idiocy happening in the news lately and society becoming so crazy entitled and ill-mannered, it's nice to know that there are still super nice people out there who are willing to help you just because they want to.

- It gives me more time to do other things.  I spent much less time cleaning and much more time unpacking and organizing which I consider to be WAY more funtastic.  And yes that is my word: fantastically fun.

- It makes me want to hang out with these awesome people more.  Too bad they left today.
