My butt and legs may be soar, but that's what I get for being so uncoordinated and an avid anti-exerciser. My Simple Pleasure of the Day happens to be bike riding because I finally have my bike all set up and ready to ride to work. All I have to do now is get used to it and not be such a wimp.
Bike rides are good for you and here is why:
- It makes the wimps less wimpy. Bike riding is one of those exercises that is NOT THAT HARD. My ride to work today may have had me craving a 30 minute slow walk instead of a moderately tiring 15 minute bike ride, but that's only because I haven't ridden in years. The huffing and puffy will decrease once my riding becomes daily.
- Exercise in general is good for you HELLO! Sitting in a car and then sitting in a desk chair and then sitting at home is just too much sitting. Even my boss's suggestion of a company-wide walk around the block once or twice a week is considered exercise so get it while you can before your butt gets bigger than all the seats you're filling.
- It's faster than walking, which means 15 more minutes of sleep! Any excuse to sleep in more daily is normally hard to come by with a full-time job and part time hobbies. Since my current relationship is with sleep, I'm loving the extra time to spend in bed during the worst time of the day.
