I picked up my car today from the auto repair shop and got to experience my SPOTD which I have not done in six days: DRIVE. With my car back from the car doctor (who discovered my poor baby had "Car Alzheimer's,") it feels great to drive again.
Driving after a driving dry spell is wonderful after:
- About a week of biking everywhere. The most physical exertion to driving is sitting, touching pedals, and straining your neck to view blind spots. Much easier than the repetitive pedaling. Driving feels sooo lazy compared to biking, let me tell you. AND IT FEELS GREAT.
- Waiting to buy most of your food until the car is accessible. Exercise is bad enough for me without having to carry more than my weight and my laptop to and from work. The pharmacy above my office has seen me a lot recently due to my light food purchases.
- Having to get a ride this weekend because of my absence of car. IT. FELT. STRANGE. The "I don't have a car so I have to rely on other people and other transportation" feeling hasn't hit me in YEARS. I paid for some food for my carpooling friend to pay for gas yet it did not feel like enough because I will missing my car so much.
You are home, my car. Relax in your assigned parking spot knowing that your memory has been restored and normal car driving bonding for the both of us will go on.
