SPOTD: Young love

What Mandy Thinks: "Simple Pleasure of the Day" post
As mentioned in my post yesterday, I had a secret which was VERY hard to keep.  Today, I can finally say that my Simple Pleasure of the Day is young love due to the fact that my sister and her boyfriend of 5ish years are engaged!  When I got word of a last-minute engagement dinner with his family and mine, I took an impromptu Tahoe trip to celebrate with them and meet the rest of my to-be-brother-in-law's family.  They're about a year younger than me and are almost insanely perfect for each other, it's scary, so most of us were saying "YAY!" with expected excitement.

Young love is mushy and fabulous and all that junk, but sometimes:

What Mandy Thinks: Image of my sister and her fiancé: "The happy couple in exaggerated happiness."
The happy couple in exaggerated happiness.
- It's too sudden and fizzles out fast.  There are too many couples in their early 20's that get into relationships too fast out of naive intentions.  Luckily my sister and her fiance are the complete opposite of these early 20's couples that suck at relationships.

- It's not actually love.  There's plenty of young couples that know what "true love" is, however some just jump into something that they think can grow later and then end up leaving when nothing changes.  The five years my sister and her fiance have dated are an indication that their in it for the long hall.

- It's gonna last "forever" (aka 'til you die).  My grandparents only knew each other for three months in their 20's before they got married and they were together for 69 years when death did they part.  With almost two-thirds of my friend's parents and/or grandparents divorced nowadays, it's clear that it's easy to get out when you're not in it for forever.  This disgustingly cute couple in my life that are newly engaged will go the distance, that's for sure.
