My self-imposed Walking Wednesdays have let me slow down my day and week by taking 70 total minutes of my commute to walk instead of 40 total minutes of bike riding. Those 30 extra walking minutes get me to notice things I can't see while zipping by on a bike, including words on bumper stickers. One today was my SPOTD as it simple showed "Life is beautiful."
Some other things I see on my walks are:
- Moms and their babies taking a stroll with their stroller.
- Old people walking with their walkers.
- Urban wildlife such as squirrels and birds. I walk past a stream and trees galore so the squawking and chirping of wildlife is a greater commute playlist than anything on my iPod.
