Cable television is something I hope to never give up no matter how irrelevant it seems to be nowadays. I upgraded my cable so I could watch specific shows live on networks that I thought I could do without in order to pay for irrelevant things like junk food. Today I would rather enjoy the live plot twists from my awesome TV shows as my SPOTD now to feed ratings to these shows I hope to not go away ever than force myself to jump online hoops from the networks that want me to watch it later.
Cable is a glorious beast due to:
- Upgraded technology. I have a fancier cable box with an interface that makes the Interface Designer in me bow to the screen.
- More features in one place due to upgraded technology.
- My anti-social life. I choose to snuggle up in front of the TV or a book or both nightly because my introvertedness needs time to unwind from my extroverted social career. (I work for a social media company for crying out loud.) I am not ashamed to say that upgrading my cable has done wonders for my happiness regardless of the decrease in food in my cupboard.
