My SPOTD is sticking under budget at the grocery store. Since my pantry and fridge and stacked up for about a week and half in meals, I needed 5 and only 5 items due to some minimalism I've been adopting due to the lack of funds I keep spouting off about (thanks taxes grr). As I moved towards the self checkout with said 5 items in hand, I prayed that it would all be under $32 since that's all I had in cash on me, and dipping into one of my cards would feel like failure. Thank goodness it was $25ish dollars, woo!
Staying under an estimated budget feels just a good as:
- Using a takeout lunch item as two meals because it's so much food. Two meals for the price of one!
- Maintaining weight over the course of a week even though you had some fatty moments. Not gaining is better than not losing.
- Cleaning out your closet and getting cash out of the clothes by selling them to a consignment store. They could have been thrown in a donation bin, but you got money out of it to either get more clothes or use elsewhere. Score!
