One of my favorite introverted activities is reading, and thanks to the season finale of my usual Monday night show debuting last week, I have an entire night I can dedicate to reading for a particularly wonderful Simple Pleasure of the Day. ESPECIALLY since my favorite author of all time Kristan Higgins has a new book out that I just got in the mail and have been DYING to pry open and now I finally can! Woohoo!
Books take you to:
- Worlds you know will never exist. Like where your dead husband's or fiance's best friend or brother or former boss or something ends up being the person you should have married in the first place. For this to have a chance of happening to me, I'd first need potential husband. Or at least a guy who has exceptional friends.
- Worlds you know SHOULD exist. I'm on the "Where are the REAL MEN?!" train, so these impossibly perfect MANLY MEN of all MANLYNESS seem to only exist in a married woman's literary mind. This fictional train full of men keeps missing my stop.
- Any world that you are NOT apart of because there is nothing wrong with occasional escapism. Especially romantically comedic escapism.
