SPOTD: Lady in Red

What Mandy Thinks: "Simple Pleasure of the Day" post
At a crazy busy sandwich shop during lunch, my order was among several packaged up to look the same at the register.  To help the rushed registered gal behind the counter, one employee handed my sandwich to her and said this sandwich was for "the lady in red."  At this statement, I smiled and nodded to the register gal as if they pointed me out as somebody important.  This "lady in red" comment felt like a compliment, as if I was the lady in particular from the "Lady In Red" song which automatically popped into my head.  My Simple Pleasure of the Day is how getting called "the lady in red" turned into an unexpected confidence booster.

I wonder what would have happened if I had:

- Worn green or blue or orange instead.  Would it have felt like a compliment if it had not sounded like the title of a song?

- Not gone to this sandwich shop in the first place.  If I went to another place for lunch, would I have been called out for wearing red in some way?

- Not given this "lady in red" comment any thought.  I love finding unexpected confidence boosters!  Maybe something else would have boosted my confidence throughout the day.
