Simple Pleasure of the Day: Making it mine

What Mandy Thinks: "Simple Pleasure of the Day" post
No matter who you are or how much money you have, a car purchase is always a long, stressful, and exhausting process.  One of the time-consuming things with getting something brand-spanking new is making it your own, but this is my favorite part.  My SPOTD is for my new 2013 Subaru Impreza by starting the process of making it my own.  Twenty-four hours after purchasing it, I purchased some interior items, prioritized my existing car accessories, and conceptualized paint job concepts my father will do for me in the coming weeks (best dad ever).

I used to think that a car had to be:

- Completely and utterly unique.  Whether it was a strange color or overdoing it with ornaments such as stickers and magets showing off my uniqueness, my car just couldn't be any old car.  Now my pocketbook chose the color of the car and my future ornament purchases will be numbered due to the future paint job.

- More of a toy than a mode of transportation.  The fact that I owned a VW Beetle screams the "toy" concept.  This new car figuratively feels like my first real car I've had.

- Cramped for my body type.  I don't know why, but cars never seem to "fit" me in the driver's seat with the seat and/or steering wheel adjustment failures.  This new car has 4 whole inches of leg room with the steering wheel which by far sold me on it first.

(While I've got your attention, I got this car from Capital Subaru in San Jose, and they are super awesome people so go to them if you want a Subaru.  Check out my Yelp review while you're at it.)
