Simple Pleasure of the Day: Petitioning Superheros

What Mandy Thinks: "Simple Pleasure of the Day" post
This SPOTD for today is all based on appearance, so I'm not 100% sure what this group of people were actually on their way to do.

I have found a few SPOTD sparks based on walking down the street, and this one is no exception.  My walk home from work had me pass a group of people dressed in superhero attire (T-shirts of one hero's logo per person but one took it a step further with a helmet and fake mustache) carrying fancy-dancy clipboards.  As my SPOTD, these petitioning superheros were on their way to perform some sort of justice to put those clipboards into good use.

I've encountered a few types of petitioners thus far since living in the Bay Area:

- The "save our animals" people.  They are particularly drawn to people with animal-like features or clothing that features an animal.  "Nice white shirt, lady.  Wanna save a polar bear today?"

- The "save our schools" people.  These guys bury you with unsettling and depressing facts about the state of our education system, but the more they badger me the less I want to interact with them.

- The "save our environment" people.  I had one guy compliment me on a floral skirt I had only to end the compliment by asking me to "save the real thing."  Save the flowers, I guess?  Nice try.
