Today is a friend's birthday, and since she's the initiator of board game fun almost always, her birthday night was all about this Simple Pleasure of the Day: party games. Our games included the always fun werewolves (also called witches / mafia in whatever versions there are out there) and a type of Apples to Apples game where you are attempting to sell something hilarious to a type of person based on a card drawn.
When it comes to board / card games, I am not a fan of a lot of the role-playing tabletop games of mythical / fantasy base, but I am a major fan of:
- Scrabble. I need to win at some point but no matter how many times I play I realize I don't know enough words to win ever.
- Apples to Apples / Crimes Against Humanity / anything with the same premise as these. The most rediculous / ironic card always wins the way we play it.
- Skip-Bo. It was a staple to play this game with my grandma for quarters or dimes.
